Dr. Seuss Snack – Cat in the Hat Marshmallow Hats

Supplies needed:
Package of large marshmallows
Red food coloring
Wooden skewers
Small bowls
Paper towels

Directions:
1. Begin by putting a few tablespoons of water in a small bowl. Add 3-5 drops of red food coloring and swirl it around until it is mixed well.
2. Toss one marshmallow at a time gently in the mixture. Move it around so that it is well coated but do not allow it to sit and soak.
3. Remove the marshmallow and place it on a paper towel to dry.
4. Once the marshmallow is dry, you can redip it if you wish it to be darker. If not, begin placing them on the skewers. Create a red/white pattern just like the Cat in the Hat’s hat, making it as short or as tall as you would like.

Your Cat in the Hat Marshmallow snack skewers are now ready to be enjoyed. You can eat them as is or pair them with fruit or fruit dips if you wish. The red coloring will be tasteless, and your kiddos will have a sweet treat sure to remind them of this fantastic book! Gather your materials and give this Seuss themed snack a try. It is a great way to celebrate this wonderful writer and the fun and exciting stories he gave us.
