Dog Steals Golf Ball

On Friday at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, golfer Paul Casey’s already horrible season took an unusual turn when a dog ran onto the 12th green at Kingsbarns Golf Links in St. Andrews and picked up Casey’s ball and ran off with it. The dog had been following Casey’s progress on the course for several holes. Onlookers were in shock after having witness the dog steals golf Ball situation but one was quick enough to catch the dog in order to return the ball to the player. After finishing at that hole Casey gave the ball back to the dog to play with.

Casey was playing a pro-am event with Us Olympic swimming multiple gold medal champion Michael Phelps when the stray dog stole the ball. The theft occurred as Casey was preparing for a 20-foot eagle putt. While he’s likely the first to have his ball snatched by a dog during tournament play (I happen to know a dog very well that if given the chance to run on a golf course will steal everyone’s golf balls and run off with them). A dog stealing the golf ball is still not as bizarre as the crazy 1998 situation when a seagull flew off with Steve Lowery’s ball at the 1998 Players Championship before promptly dropping it in the water.

Does your dog like stealing balls while you are using them.
