
The first lady, with dog Bo, set up an informal receiving line Thursday, dispensing hugs and handshakes to startled visitors on the morning tour. While visitors were surprised to actually get to see the first Lady and First Dog they were put at ease and some even joked around with the First Lady while getting to pet Bo. She spoke with High School students on debate trips and children visiting Washington with their parents. She shook hands with the elderly and joked around about the cleanliness of the White House.
The White House website streamed the ‘impromptu’ session live and occasionally Mrs. Obama would address the web audience in an aside.
