Pennsylvania’s Governors Mansion Gone to the Dogs

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett and puppy Penny

The governor and first lady added two new family members to the once quiet governors mansion last week. Two Airedale Terrier puppies Harry (for Harrisburg) and Penny (for Pennsylvania) are now a part of the family. The governor and his wife were feeling lonely after their last Airedale died in the middle of his campaign to become governor but they made the decision not to add a new family member until they were sure of where they would be living and things were more settled down once they arrived at the mansion. Penny and Harry were name by the children of Pennsylvania who sent in their suggestions all of which were supposed to have something to do with their state.

The first pups have only already chosen favorite person “Last week I was gone a couple of days,” the governor said, “and during that time they really bonded with [Susan]. They listen to her. They don’t listen to me.” They will certainly have a lot of run racing around the 29,000 square foot home and and playing in the garden.
