The First Annual Sean and Sophia Dog Social and Expo in Sewickly, PA saw dozens of local dogs and their families traveled to Misty Pines Dog Park in Franklin Park to support a worthwhile cause. The Sean and Sophia Foundation is an organization established to help 7-year-old Sean Forsyth raise the $10,000 needed to adopt and train Sophia, a very special service dog. Sean suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome, a high-functioning form of autism which is generally evidenced by a heightened difficulty with social situations. Sophia the Labrador who is currently a year-old will play a vital role in Sean’s therapy by providing him with the loyal companionship he needs.

Many dogs and their families enjoyed the social inside the well-equipped lodge, a group of dogs decided to dive into the water from the  pier and for a swim in the large pond. While other dogs enjoyed the elaborate agility course, which offered another opportunity for pets to socialize off-leash in the enclosed play area. The event was a huge success for the Foundation and for the people and local businesses that participated.
