Sample of New Dog License
Easton Town Clerk’s office in Connecticut sees a lot of canine owners during the month of June when all dogs 6 month of age and older need to renew their license. Over the past year town officials have been working hard to upgrade the system so that it makes is easier to identify each dog especially if they become lost. Each dog will have to submit a photo which will be stored in the town’s computer system. Individuals from the Easton Senior Center have volunteered to take photos of dogs whose owners don’t have a picture. This service will be at no cost to the town or residents allows the Seniors to socialize with people outside of the center pet the dogs and participate in life in the community. Those who have their own photos can bring in a hard copy when they bring in their other paperwork for the license or can email it to the Clerk’s Office.
I think this is a very positive step and believe more areas should adopt this new license procedure even if purely for safety reasons should your dog go missing or for use after a natural disaster. Do you think your town or city should adopt this new dog license for use in your area?
