Genesee County Sheriff’s Office raided a dog fighting site locatedin the garage of a Flint, MI home on Monday. Five dogs were found at the scene including one dog that was used as a bait dog to train the other dogs for fighting. Five dogs, including one “bait dog,” were seized by animal control officers from a home on East Bishop Monday afternoon. The bait dog, which Genesee County Sheriff Robert Pickell said was used to train the fighting dogs, had extensive injuries and could hardly stand up when handled by animal control officials. After being evaluated by veterinarians due to their traumatic injuries it was decided that 3 of the dogs should be Euthanized as they were having difficulty standing or could not stand on their own.
A 14-year-old was taken in for questioning by authorities. Apparently the 14-year-old was currently on a 180-day minimum suspension from school and that he had been kicked out of school at least 10 times in the past.
