Ingredients
  • ¾ of a cup of Quick cook Oatmeal (uncooked!)
  • 4.25 oz Jar of baby food.Iif you are making your own pureed mix go with ½ cup
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Mix baby food and oatmeal together and let stand for about 5 minutes.
  3. The mixture will not be cookie dough constancy. Don't worry you aren't rolling out the dough.
  4. If you are not using a non stick cookie sheet use a healthy oil to grease the pan.
  5. Scoop out a portion of the mixture and press onto a cutting board so that it is slightly wider than the cookie cutter you are going to use.
  6. Press the cookie cutter down and remover excess dough back into the bowl.
  7. Use a very sharp knife to slowly remove the dough and place onto cookie sheet.
  8. Repeat until all the dough is used or until you decide it is too much work and form small thumbprint cookies instead. (We know our audience plus we had some left over dough but not enough for another cookie so I made a few more appropriate sized thumbprint cookies.
  9. Bake for 30 minutes turn off oven and let sit in the oven as it cools for at least another 10 minutes.
Notes
**Depending on how large your cookie cutter is you might only be able to make a few cookies.

***Even if you use a large cookie cutter like we did it does not mean your dog has to eat the entire heart shaped oatmeal dog treat at one time or even in one day.

****Dog treat even healthy treats should only make up about 10% of your dog's total daily intake.

*****Using green bean baby food will significantly reduce the calories in each cookie compared to a fruit based option.
