Senior Dogs Need Specialized Nutrition #BrightMind

I began to notice a change in Davinia and Indiana as last winter was ending they were becoming Senior Dogs. Their coat looking really dry, sparse and in need of something that daily salmon oil was no longer providing. They weren’t as happy about life, and just didn’t seem like their usual selves. At almost 11 years old Davinia is certainly considered a member of the senior dogs club and at 9 and a little monkey see monkey do Indiana is right there with her. Anything that gets Indiana some extra attention is good in her book. I left Global Pet Expo in March with a small bag to check out unsure what I would find or if the girls would even eat it.

From day one when they had a few pieces of the Kibble as a treat. The very next day I decided that they would have their Bright Mind for breakfast. Their big little eyes started to get brighter almost immediately. Different sized bags and different size kibble for your dog’s needs. PetSmart is the perfect place for two little senior Cavalier King Charles Spaniels to visit on a regular basis. I put a really soft blanket in the bottom of the cart and they get to hang out in the PetSmartCart while checking out which ag of Bright Mind they want to buy and of course the small animal area where they can watch the birds and hamsters but don’t forget the fish. Plus all of the people to meet and greet it becomes a half a day affair to visit PetSmart and pick up a bag of Bright Mind. If we spend a really long time in the store and we are down a quiet aisle, Davinia will cuddle up in the blankets and take a nap.
That sounds like an awesome brand of food. I will check into it for Milo when he’s older.
First, you dog is adorable! I’ve wanted one like that for years. Second, this food brand looks great. Our dog is older (13) and I’ve been looking for something that will work well for him so we’ll definitely have to check this out.
I will have to keep this in my for when my 3 pups are a bit older. My oldest pup will be 6 in Feb so he’s getting up there!
Davinia and Indiana are absolutely adorable!! I have a 4 year old pup, and I plan on keeping an eye on her food throughout her life. She’s part of the family.

Bright Mind sounds like a great option for the older dogs! I like that it can help them with their joint mobility.

I too have senior dogs, 2 toy poodles, and switched their food last year to one that had some softer bites mixed in as one of them had to have some teeth pulled. I made sure it was good for seniors as the youngest has joint problems and the oldest is blind and has been for years. One developed terrible skin issues with itching and the other got runny eyes and nose. My groomer asked if I had changed food so I said I did then I and back and looked and there was a lot of corn meal in the one I switched to and I had to go back to the premium brand to have a meat for main ingredient. Did your dogs have any problems switching to this? It sounds like just what would be best for them.
