#VetOnDemand Means a Veterinarian When You Need One

Wait what?!?

A Veterinarian when you need one in the middle of the night or during the weekend or a holiday. Yes you read that right. There is a brand new app in town that is set to shift Veterinary Care forever. All you need is your iPhone and to download the FREE app and you have access to a Board Certified Veterinarian when you have questions that need answering. Dr. Google is going to be a thing of the past in your house when you learn more about Vet on Demand.

Vet On Demand is the first mobile application to provide personalized, real time access to veterinary care through the power of telemedicine. All you need to do is open the App set up your pet’s profile and call the vet. Once there is an available Vet you will get an alert and your video screen will open up so that you can begin chatting Face to Face with the Veterinarian. They can observe your dog or cat have them walk around the house ask you to show them their ears or mouth or any number of things in order to evaluate the situation and at the end of the “call” offer a diagnosis and options for how to move forward.

Sound interesting? Like something you might want to have around for those days your pet acts a little off or you are looking for a second opinion or help figuring out what a diagnosis from your personal vet means. No problem just open the app and “call” the vet. You can discuss anything under the sun that you would ask your personal vet only you don’t have to leave your house to do it. They do recommend having your pet with you so that the vet can see your pet but if it is a general question or questions about what a diagnosis means I guess you could use the app during your lunch break at work.

Wait!

Vet on Demand Means a Veterinarian When You Need One

Oh my goodness the Vet on Demand App is now available for your iPad and iPad touch along with the iPhone! That is huge news and happened over the weekend. Apparently I can’t link to it but all you need to d is visit the App store and search for Vet on Demand. It will pop up and you can download it now so that you have it when you need it.

Vet on Demand® meets three currently unmet needs identified by pet owners.

  1. Predictable Cost. Research shows that pet owners indicate they would welcome an opportunity to pay for veterinary services a la carte.
  2. Competitive Pricing. Because Vet On Demand handles many administrative hurdles in the background, we can provide pricing that allows for everyone to have access and still pay our Veterinarians at a premium rate.
  3. Improved Convenience. Research shows that many pet owners would like to have access to a Veterinary Practice open earlier or later than usually available in their area.

Vet on Demand
PRICE: $2.50 per minute

With Vet on Demand you no longer have to stress your pet out each and every time your pet needs to see a vet. Obviously if it is a true emergency run to the Emergency Vet. How many early mornings as you are getting ready for work do you think something seems off with your cat or dog and have to figure out how to leave work early or literally speed home after work so that you can see the vet before they close for the day. Now a quick chat with a Vet can put you at ease and help you figure out what you can do with what you have at home to help ease the discomfort. During our chat we were recommended to use a hot pack on the bump that I was worried about. The vet even told us how to make one super quick and easy! The vet was also able to recommend specialists or another area of treatment that I had considered but didn’t think year after the trauma would offer any significant benefits. Said bump and trauma were completely unrelated but because I had said something about Davinia having difficulty with the stairs when I noticed the bump of course she decided to show off for the vet and run up and down the stairs during our chat and the vet saw her limp. In our 13 minute call which comes out to $32.50 not only did we have a treatment plan for the immediate issue but a way to treat at home and suggestions for a completely unrelated issue. All from the comfort of our couch without having to get both dogs into the car and to the vet. Why two? Because they don’t like t be left home alone without the other one anymore so we always have a tag along for moral support. Or what about my parents whose dog needs to be carried into the Vet because she refuses to walk in the front door. We know that these are common occurrences and often make you stop and think before you go to the vet so you take the wait and see approach. Now you don’t have to wait and see.

Just grab your iPhone or iPad and open up the Vet on Demand App and chat away with a vet on the other end of the video call!

  43. That’s actually a pretty interesting idea for a phone app. I wouldn’t have thought to make something for pet owners to be able to get veterinary care on demand for their pets. I can see how it’d be pretty nice to have that available during times where most vet offices would be closed. It should be interesting to see how something like this works out.

  44. Being able to call up your veterinarian at any time during the day to ask him or her a question about your animal’s health would be very comforting. You said that you often do this for your cat, and since my dog is starting to get older, I feel that I would use this same option often if I had the opportunity. My dog has trouble climbing into my car, so not having to transport him to the vet’s office would be a nice luxury. Do you think this is something that will become mainstream soon?

  45. Jonathan Pound says

This is a great idea. I had a black lab growing up that had a nose for trouble. Fortunately, he was super hardy and never really injured himself. However, I had a friend and his dog was allergic to almost everything. This would have been a great service for them! http://www.gwyneddvethospital.com/services.asp

  46. This is amazing! I know that my pediatrician has an on-demand phone line for children, so it makes sense that veterinarians would do this too. I’m sure this actually saves them time on silly questions that people may not have needed to make an appointment for, so it benefits not only the customers but the vets too!

  47. I feel like this service is really the future of all medical visits, both for pets and humans alike. I love that it’s so inexpensive, too. I would love to be able to just chat with our vet from home, and feel like I would actually use him more often for little things if I didn’t have to go through the hassle of getting my dog into the car and to the office.

  48. Thank you for sharing this Vet on Demand App with the world. I am an animal lover and recently had a pet that was injured your app helped me to find a 24 pet care provider that was not in my home town but very close and could still offer my pet emergency attention. I will share this information with all my friends that are pet lovers too. Thank you so much!
