Dog Hitch Hikes on Bus

dog rides bus

A small terrier dog climbed on board a bus in Oregon this morning with commuters on the way to work. Only the little dog did not belong to anyone on the bus. She saw the open door and friendly looking people and decided it was time to go for a ride. Undetected at first as the crowded bus of sleepy travelers traveled northeast towards Portland at 5:30 a.m. eventually a passenger saw her and alerted the bus driver.

The lady who spotted the little dog stayed on the bus until the end of the route so that she could hand the dog over to a Supervisor who had alerted authorities. The dog, who’s about 6 years old, is now at Town and Country Animal Hospital in Southeast Portland. She has no collar, tags or identifying microchip. She does seem healthy, her coat is in good shape and does not display any signs of being on her own for long. They hope that the dog’s owners will see her picture in the news and go and claim her.

If this little dog is yours animal control in your area is awaiting your call 503-846-7041.
