Dog Grooming at Home with CHI For Dogs

Indiana the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Dog Grooming at Home with #CHIforDogs
CHI for Dogs Disclosure
This post should really be called the best dog grooming supplies ever. That isn’t a joke or an over exaggeration it is the truth. Where other products are mediocre CHI® for Dogs gets the job done and gets it done well. We have tried a lot of products over the years and one thing is for sure this line is here to stay.

1. CHI for Dogs makes Davinia and Indiana’s Whites White and their Reds bright.
2. CHI for Dog makes them smell good and not like wet dog or worse too sweet fruity smelling.
3. CHI for Dogs makes their coat shiny and soft.
4. CHI for Dog has them smelling great weeks after their bath even after rolling in the mud, 3 days of constant rain, and a trip to the kennel.

Let’s break it down a minute to see just how incredible these products are for Dog Grooming at Home.

CHI for Dogs Cleansing and Refreshing wipes

One use of the Cleansing and Refreshing Dog Wipes and the girls were no longer dull looking something we had been battling for a few months by that time. You could see their vibrant Reds and it even removed some dead fur along with the dirt. I have never used between bath wipes and so when I found them in the box I was excited to try them out I didn’t honestly expect much. I thought maybe it would remove some dirt and could be used after a trip to the Dog Park or before seeing friends. The product delivered so much more. I honestly would recommend having these around to take when you bring your dog out and about.

The big test was bath day or bath night as it so happened. We live in Georgia in the Mountains so our dirt isn’t brown or black like most is it orange Georgia Clay. The girls hadn’t had a bath in a while (better to put a new shampoo and conditioner to the test). I went in knowing the first go around with the Chi for Dogs Oatmeal Shampoo was going to be to hopefully get the orange off of them. The second round is to get rid of the wet dog smell. You know what I am talking about how when you do your dog grooming at home they have the wet dog smell after shampoo #1. It’s actually a professional dog grooming trick to get your dog twice with the shampoo before using the conditioner. Anyway the amount of dirt that came off from the first shampooing impressed me. I could tell the girls were actually getting clean. After shampooing the second time I think that I could have taken the girls out of the bath and been satisfied without conditioner. They smelled clean and looked clean.

But we had the CHI for Dogs Oatmeal Conditioner to try so I let the dirty water out of the bath and got down to the business of conditioning the girls. Even at night in the bathtub I could tell that this was a product that was doing its job. To be honest when I first opened the package I was really hoping we would get the deep conditioning products but the team at Fetch For Pet the people behind bringing CHI for Dogs to the market knew what we needed. In all honestly I used way too much conditioner in my quest to deep condition and I probably could have used about half as much because it took a while to rinse it out. But that is ok because I will know for next time and now you will know that the CHI for Dogs Oatmeal Conditioner really conditions. I wish that these products were available back when Indiana was a show puppy.

I let the girls air dry in my bed on my pillow. I tried to get them to dry off in a more appropriate place but they snuggled in together and it was already getting late so I dried them as best as I could with the towel and figured I would fix it in the morning. Whenever I let Indiana air dry she gets this weird fluffy bump right over her back hips she always has and it usually takes a day or two to come down again. Not this time. I took out the CHI Porcupine brush seriously skeptical of it doing much of anything besides collecting dog hair. But this too delivered real results. it is 2 Brushes in 1 (Groom & finish coat in 1 step), helps reduce tangles and prevents matting. Ergonomic soft grip handle and Ionic Technology which helps reduce static electricity in hair, helps manage tangles and restores balance/shine to hair. Indiana’s fluffy bump was gone. Davinia’s ears seemed to have length and they were both smooth and so shiny that you could see each strand of fur.

The Oatmeal Shampoo and Conditioner and the Porcupine Brush are the trifecta of Dog Grooming at Home. It has been a few weeks since the girls had their bath and I can still smell hints of the Shampoo and Conditioner when we snuggle at night. I am so impressed with CHI for Dogs that I have put some serious thought into getting a long coated dog and keeping it in full coat because with these products I have no doubt that would be possible. (Another dog is not a new thought it is something I have wanted since Indiana was a year and half old. She is now 10 😉

  22. Whoa, I didn’t know CHI made pet grooming supplies. I use CHI on my own hair already, so I may give that a go next time I try to groom my dogs at home. I’ve just been having a groomer do it for me lately since our dog is so big. Last time I tried to groom him at home, the bath turned into a wrestling match and I’m the one who took a dunk in the tub.

  23. Hey, Thanks. Its good to know that dog clippers also available from CHI. I will give atry next time.

I have been thinking about some more heavy duty dog grooming here in Clayton, NC and maybe getting some tips on what else I can do. Thanks for the tips!
