#WHPColorfulCooking Photo Shoot

As a special breakfast this morning I made Davinia and Indiana some steamed vegetables with eggs. Not only are fresh vegetables and eggs a favorite of theirs but I thought I would make for some fun colorful images for this weekend’s Instagram Hashtag Project #WHPColorfulCooking I knew that I had to set everything up and make sure that the lighting looked good and that the girls were in place before I put the plate with the egg down on the table. Indiana was a willing participant in the set up of the photo shoot with her bowl of Brocoli and Carrots. She was curious but not overly curious about them because she could smell the egg cooking.

The Set up

I let the egg cool off a bit before putting it on the plate and putting it down on the table for the girls. Indiana was still a willing participant while Davinia was out of the picture jumping all over me wanting me to give her the plate. They don’t really have a favorite way to have their eggs prepared but the yolk is supposed to be especially good for them so I usually let them lick my plate after I eat a Sunny Side up egg. If the egg is for them it is usually scrambled but I figured this would make for a more vibrant picture and they were supposed to share the egg so I wasn’t too worried about it being too rich or too much for them.
Indiana with the main course

I pulled the plate away from Indiana and picked Davinia up off the couch and put her on the pillows hidden by the table to make them tall enough to see what is on the table. Davinia decided that was way too civilized and she didn’t want to wait on the pillows or put her front paws on the table to stand up she was going to get right up on the table. I still had not put the plate with the egg back down. I picked Davinia up and put her off the table back on her pillows…
The not so civilized approach to sunday brunch

Half a second after I put the plate with the egg back down she was on the table. I decided to just let it go because it was easier to get them both in the picture this way. What I did not expect to happen was Davinia being able to eat the entire egg on her own. It was just the majority of the egg that she got and Indiana did get some of the yolk in the more civilized portion of this photo shoot. Plus she has some steamed vegetables so hopefully she does not have an upset stomach in a few minutes from eating too much rich egg. If one of the two of them did eat more of the egg it was better it was Davinia but…
Eating Sunday Brunch

#WHPColorfulCooking

This Sunday Brunch was in place of their breakfast so I will give Indiana a few pieces of something else for what she missed out from on the egg. Lesson learned though they need their own plates or I need to separate the egg onto two sides of the plate for them . Plus, Davinia had an unfair advantage being able to stand on top of the plate while Indiana stayed on the floor and just had her paws on the table. They had fun and enjoyed their breakfast. It has now been a half hour since Davinia hate the egg and she has not gotten sick which means we should be just fine and I guess her body needed all of the nutrients.

I am still debating which image I use as our submission for the #WHPColorfulCooking hashtag. You will have to check out our instagram account and follow us to see which picture we use and for future hashtag projects! https://instagram.com/twolittlecavaliers/

    • Yes! Of course I know who you are. Davinia and Indiana really like steamed vegetables. We will all eat steamed vegetables as a snack sometimes or they will get some when I make them for lunch or dinner. Maybe if you make stir fry chicken before you add any sauce cook the Vegetables and Chicken together and let him have some of the vegetables from there. They also like carrots from Split pea soup. The only reason Indiana’s head was not in the bowl of vegetables was because she smelled the egg cooking and in truth the little bowl was not that close to her.

  2. Oh Yummmmm, you pals really get good things to eat. I’ve never had a plate full of those things before. I guess some kitties to eat those things tho. M just thinks you both are the cuties doggies ever.

    • Aww thank you Mario Da Cat! Our kitty friend Dora would have had her head in the bowl of vegetables before mommy could have picked up the camera. In fact it was mommy that figured out grandma and grandpa’s cat Dora ate Vegetables because she left a plate of them on the table while she ran to the ladies room and when she came back there was a cat eating her dinner!

You might like some scrambled eggs with a bit of chopped vegetables mixed in. You should ask your people for a bit of theirs one day!
