9 Incredible Eggnog Recipes
Eggnog, or egg nog, is a sweetened dairy-based beverage traditionally made with milk and/or cream, sugar, and whipped eggs (which gives it a frothy texture). Sweet spirits such as brandy, rum or bourbon are often added. The finished serving is often garnished with a sprinkling of ground cinnamon or nutmeg. – Eggnog Wikipedia
Stories abound of the origins of Eggnog some say it was created from scratch and others say it was created when someone added extra ingredients to their warm milk one night. What is known is that as early at the late 1700’s people in the US and Canada were drinking Eggnog before leaving on a journey. The drink was meant to warm the traveler, fill them up, and the alcohol for helping to fend off disease.
