Davinia is not a fan of trick or treaters knowing on the door or ringing the doorbell all night. She prefers quiet and will likely be as far from the door as possible in her crate hopefully sleeping. Indiana loves the commotion and wants to see all the kids and lick them and hand out treats. But we all know most Halloween Candy is not dog friendly being chocolate so we always keep a small stash of Halloween treats for any dogs joining their kids on the walk around their neighborhood. We are an equal opportunity treats household. OK maybe not completely equal opportunity we only give treats to dogs we know. Do you have anything special for the few dogs that come around with their families each year?

Oh Yes, Murhpy will be a pumpkin! Two years ago on Halloween….Murphy came to live with me! I had just lost my beagle suddenly and was devisted. My sister had to stop in the petstore and get some dog treats for her dog…and I went along. They had their adoption days…I fell in love with Murphy! I didnt have the money to get him…so I left. Kept in touch with his adoptive parents….and was hoping to get him after I got paid in a few weeks. A week later is was Halloween….and there was a knock on the door…I thought it was my first trick or treater…and low and behold…it was Murphy on my doorstep in a pumpkin costume! I cried so hard! My sister and son had arranged to get Murphy for me and put him in a pumpkin costume since it was Halloween night. Murphy and I are best buds…and every year since then…I put him in the pumpkin costume…to remember the night he came into my life! 🙂
I have a witches costume for my one dog and sometimes put it on her when giving out candy.
