Purina Busy Treats
Several weeks ago we received a surprise package in the mail. A special gift from our friends at Purina. They wanted us to let our readers know about a special new product line to hit pet store shelves – Purina Busy Treats. They sent us a messenger bag full of the new treats so that we could experience all of the different types they have to offer.
Since we received an entire messenger bag full of treats we decided to share some of the bigger bones with my parents dog Whisper. She has made a guest appearance in some of our other reviews but she has never been the only reviewer before – ok fine we tried them out too but we think Whisper should take point in this review. We had just moved to our new house and our package arrived at my parents house which was the address I was using while waiting for our new house and we had two big boxes waiting for us there. When I opened the box with the Purina Busy Treats I knew Whisper would love them and would probably let me take pictures while she ate them. I unwrapped one of the biggest bones and gave it to her. She sniffed it, licked it, and then took it over to her blanket bed to chew on. With other bones that are not necessarily the right size for her she will chew on them but seems kind of bored. There was no boredom here. Whisper was animated while eating her bone! She enjoyed chewing on it and working it with her teeth.
The bone lasted for maybe 5 minutes but Whisper enjoy all five of those minutes with her bone. I left her the other big bone and some of the medium sized bones for later. I went back a few weeks later and they were all gone and she was asking for more. Davinia and Indiana both got to try the Purina Busy Treats Chewnola. I gave the bones on the balcony. They immediately brought them inside and onto their mat next to the door. They rarely share the mat especailly when Davinia sprawls herself across it but they are. Davinia got right to the point of the Chewnola and started gnawing on it. Indiana on the other hand decided she wanted to lick it first and spend a few minutes licking it. Another odd occurrence. If either of the dogs were going to lick a treat and not get right to the business of eating it, in our house at least it would be the other way around. It looks like the Chewnola is keeping the girls equally busy chewing on it. I think Davinia might like the Granola like texture on it because she decided to flip her bone around and work on the other side now instead of continuing on the same side. The Medium / Chewnola is way too big to make them an everyday treat for us but I will certainly keep an eye out at the store to pick up some more for them especially because they don’t ever have anything with this texture. They actually are 3 treats in one the Granola outside, rawhide inside and something tat looks like a softer middle. These treats will keep the dogs busy for a good long time with the added bonus that they must certainly be cleaning their teeth while chewing.
Davinia wants to know where we can sign up for a life time supply. These might be her favorite Chew Treats and we don’t say things like that lightly around here. She is a very picky girl and there are plenty of chew treats we don’t have in our house because she will not eat them.

I think my girls would like the busy bones-well all of them really- and I can get them down the street at KMart.
My dogs would like the real meat in the middle. They each weigh about 80lbs so I need the large size.

We get those occasionally. My sister downs either one in less than a minute but I make mine last about 10 mins. For the price, they just don’t last long enough in our opinion.

It looks like all the flavors are something my dogs would love but maybe they would like the Chewnola the best. I would most likely either buy them at PetSmart or online.
