Pet Bloggers Blog Hop

I have a cat sitting on my lap. I know you didn’t expect me to say that but I have a cat climbing all over me right now. I am at my parents house and have invaded Dora’s space. See I have set up my office for the next few weeks in my parent (finished) basement and this is where she sleeps. During the day Dora spends her time climbing trees, chasing lizards, catching mice, and keeping away from the bigger wildlife. But it just isn’t safe for her to stay outside at night considering my parent live only feet from the National Forest line. In fact just earlier today my dad ran outside to get Dora because there was a fox on the rocks overlooking the house. Sorry no pictures of the fox. By the time I saw it my dad was making noise outside calling for Dora and the fox turned and went back into the forest. Back to Dora on my lap. At first Dora was one mad cat about me taking over the basement and leaving the lights on late so that I could get my work done. But she started to accept me down here when I realized she likes to not only sleep on her pillow and blankets but when it is cold out she likes to be covered. Since she approves of the fact that I cover her she doesn’t give me dirty looks as much. Then last night we had a bi rain storm with lightening and thunder which she did not like one bit. I found her sleeping on the stairs so I picked her up and brought her to my bed figuring she wanted to be somewhere high off the ground. She liked that a lot and within an hour or so made her way to right next to my pillow and went to sleep.

Dora

The back story on Dora is that she was a feral kitten. She moved from house to house as people would leave some food out for her until one of the neighbors called my parents and asked if they would keep her at the top of the mountain. Dora lived outside for a few months keeping close to the house until one day the little kitten couldn’t make it between the poles of the closed gate. It wasn’t from eating too many mice or getting too many treats at a very young age she became pregnant. So after her spay while she was recuperating she because an indoor kitty. At fist she was not a fan and ate a few days wanted to go back outside but just having major surgery my parents didn’t think it was safe to let her wander around outside. Eventually she was allowed back outside but in the time she was an indoor kitty she made herself at home and so she now comes in every night for safe keeping. She is now a year old and she is the queen of the top of the mountain has a special pillow and blankets inside and a box with blankets outside for when she wants to take a nap during the day. Though if something happens like she gets chased by something or she chases something she will ask to come inside and go down to the basement to sleep for a few hours. My dad’s garden is her garden and she gets very mad when the dogs go back there. See she isn’t a an of dogs. Especially ones so close to her own size that want to play.
