Pet Bloggers Blog Hop

I was going to write something profound for tonight’s Pet Bloggers Blog Hop post but I have decided to hold off and think about it before I publish it for the world to see. I know that sounds cryptic but sometimes you just have to give things time so you can de-stress and decide if the issue is really with a specific incident or if the issue just came in a long line of similar instances and this one is the one you are going to blame for them all.

What I can tell you is why I haven’t been posting as regularly as usual. As you know I was at Global Pet Expo at the end of February. I had a blast. I got to hang out with friends in the Pet Industry and catch up after almost a year of not seeing many of them. I am referring to the vendors not the PR people or Media people who I get to see more often. Yes I have developed relationships with several of the vendors over the years and it is always nice to spend a few minutes catching up and learning about their brand new product. I got to my parents house on Saturday night (they were doggy sitting) and then the next morning I went out house hunting. Yes, everyone goes to Global in the middle of looking for a house. I would have loved to sleep in but the truth of the matter was I was running out of time to find a house so that I wouldn’t have to yet again push back my move out date on this apartment. So we see the houses that were on my list for Sunday some really nice houses – well two nice houses and one torn apart by the people who defaulted on their mortgage. One was literally perfect it had everything I had said I wanted a nice quite neighborhood close to town, a fenced in backyard, and wood floors (no more carpet for the Two Little Cavaliers.) There was just something that didn’t feel right about it. I couldn’t put it into words but my gut said not to put an offer on the house. So it was back to the drawing board.

I drove home Sunday night and got to work Monday morning and just tried to decompress and get back into my regular schedule. Wednesday morning I received a phone call from BlogPaws – would I be interested in coming on board part time to run the Blogger Outreach program. It was completely unexpected and I think I have been in a blur since. By Wednesday night I had said yes and had a ticket booked to visit the Pet360 Headquarters the following Monday to meet my boss and have some initial meetings with their teams. By Thursday I was already working on putting programs together and taking over the running of already started programs. (I promise to let you know when they are ready to unveil so you can all sign up for them). I was supposed to leave the Pet360 Headquarters on Wednesday but apparently there was something going on with the weather so my first flight got canceled and then they kept pushing back the later flight they put me on so I just decided to leave Thursday and spend an extra day and a half at the office which meant I got to have more meetings and got things rolling in the background on some truly awesome Blogger Programs you will all love. Once again my parents had been doggy sitting so I got back to their house late Thursday. I slept over and then drove home on Friday.

By Friday night I was sick and by Saturday night I was throwing up. Davinia and Indiana tried their best to take care of me. Their idea was to try and make me their baby and sleep on my head which obviously did not help with the flu. By Monday I was so sick I couldn’t walk the dogs anymore so my mom came to pick the three of us up. I was quarantined in the basement and they took care of the dogs. I spent the week coughing and going through boxes of tissues while on the phone with companies interested in Blogger Programs. But being sick put me in a really bad situation. I have to be out of my apartment by the end of the month and still cannot bend down and pick anything up without choking and have had a headache for what is going to be 2 weeks in a few hours. So yeah it has been hard to find the energy to Blog on top of everything else. I finally made the decision that since I am in no shape to pack that I am just going to have the movers pack for me. Its an expense but less then the amount I would have to pay to stay here another month. I might be more packed by the end of April but there is no way I could move 2 weeks before BlogPaws especially because I will be back at Pet360 Headquarters before the conference to help everyone get ready.

You might have noticed I didn’t mention where I was moving to once everything is all boxed up and put on the truck. Due to the situation from now until right after BlogPaws I will be moving into my quarantine room in my parents basement and set up an office. I will have access to a land line so that I don’t spend hours a day on my cell phone and the dogs will be happy because they love grandma and grandpa’s house. And I can use the time to figure out where we are going to be moving there are now a lot of considerations that weren’t in the mix at the end of last month so I need some time to really think things through and make a decision. The girls are happy. I told them we are going to grandma and grandpa’s house next week and they got very excited it is a much better situation for them there. Indiana can hang out with Davinia all day or spend time with Whisper or mix it up a little. Davinia can sit in the sun on grandma’s couches. At some point since leaving for Global Davinia now has permission to sleep on her grandma’s couches preferably with a towel under her but she no longer gets told to get off the couch. Indiana takes over Whispers blanket bed but I think it is only fair considered Whisper stole one of Davinia and Indiana’s bed a year ago and will not give it up.

  1. I hope you get up and running soon. Being sick sucks and trying to get back the energy after you get over the flu is ruff. I think living with grandpawents sounds like fun since they keep the best treats!
Condogulations on the Pet360 job. I am the moderator of the Poodle Place so if you know any poodles, please ask them to join.
The house sounds like it was pawfect but sometimes you have to go with your gut. I bet that as pretty as it was, it had something like electrical , water, bugs something wrong with it or maybe even Ghost! You never know, you could have avoided a money pit.
Happy Saturday! I hope it is sunny and things make you smile.

You’ve made some good points there. I looked on the web for more information about the issue and found most people will go along with your views on this site.
