Dogs Visit Rice University for Study Break from Finals

Dogs visit Rice University

Since Thursday afternoon, Rice University students have had the opportunity to mingle, de-stress and share hugs with dogs of various breeds during finals week at Fondren Library. The library has asked Houston pet therapy organization Faithful Paws to bring its friendly and specially-trained canines to the first floor of Fondren. The remaining dog sessions are 2 to 6 p.m. Dec. 8 and 5 to 10 p.m. Dec. 10.

This is a very good idea to reduce stress during the holidays. I think that if I had a dog, I would do this. Along with visiting nursing homes.

I didn’t have a therapy dog visit during college but when I worked at Carolinas Healthcare System they did have a therapy dog that I would occasionally see in the hallways at the hospital. Amazing how an animal can bring smiles to a persons face just by being themselves.
