We here at Two Little Cavaliers feel very strongly that EVERY. SINGLE. PLUS this book will help someone whether a close family member that already knows your dog (but doesn’t know all their little quirks) or a complete stranger that is fostering your dog until you get better or a new home is found can help your dog feel more comfortable using the instructions you left for your dog(s) care. Even if you put your dog in your WILL it could take weeks or months for it to be read and any legal matters handled during which time your dog is in limbo if no one knows what was supposed to be done. I truly believe that every single one of our friends and readers should be entering to win this Giveaway. Even if your whole family knows what is supposed to happen with your dog(s) if you can no longer care for them If I Should Die Before My Dog helps you remember to write down the details. Maybe your dog has a weird habit and will only eat off of a flat dish or is petrified of the vacuum cleaner but you have devised a system that you have a special bed at the back of your closet that the dog is allowed to sleep when you are vacuuming. Enter to win for your parents, or your neighbor, or your assistant at work. We never consider what would happen if we can no longer care for our dogs because we always assume they will go to the rainbow bridge and be waiting for us when we get there but life doesn’t always work like that.

  1. I have two dogs, Shiloh and Cheyenne. Cheyenne was rescued from a high-kill southern shelter. Her owner died, and thought his family would take care of her, but instead they dumped her in a shelter with an 85% kill rate. Though I have several plans in place for my dogs should something happen to me, I’d love to have this book to write it all down.

This is a must have. After being in rescue for so many years, it is really nice to see when people plan for their pups when they go. To many people never think about it.

  3. I just have one dog… my Trixie. I’d love a second at some point though!

  6. Wow! I know where I’d want my dogs to go if something ever happened to my husband and I, but for some reason never thought about writing it down. Eye-opening to say the least! Would love this book!

  7. Sheila Bilotta says

My Dad passed away this past April and had asked beforehand if I would take his rescued Great Pyreness. I said absolutely. I have become so attached to her and cannot imagine her not here. We did a lot of practicing before she permanently moved in. We did this slowly during my Dad’s illness to help her transition and to allow time for my Dad to adjust to the idea. Besides the constant shedding I am in love!

  8. Hi Y’all,

What a great idea. Right now we have a couple pages in an envelope besides our will. It’s something that always preys on our minds.

I have a vague understanding with my brother and sister about my dogs, but have never considered writing it down formally. This is a truly EXCELLENT idea! Thanks for the chance to win!
