Prissy the Sheltie dog was reported missing by its owners Tuesday, Aug. 28. She was later found trapped in an underground pipe. Prissy is an an elderly dog who is suffering from cancer so her disappearance was very alarming to her owners. Tim Kelley with the City of Suffolk says Suffolk Fire and Rescue and Suffolk Animal Control responded to rescue the family pet that was trapped in a 17-inch underground pipe. Several members of the Suffolk Fire Rescue Personnel along with several members of Suffolk Animal Control helped get Prissy out of the pipe and back to her owner.
With her owner looking on and calling her name Prissy the Sheltie was removed from the pipe and given some water after her ordeal. The dog was taken to a veterinarian for further evaluation and for treatment of dehydration.
