Do you live in a community where they throw a big giant dog party the day before they winterize the swimming pool? Have you ever gotten to take advantage of the swimming day specifically for dogs? If you have never heard of this event in your community now is the time to check the local papers and call your local pools to see if they invite community dogs over for a swim. Many communities hold their dog swim day the weekend after labor day and before they get things ready for the winter. Some community pools allow people to swim with the dogs others only allow the dogs in the pool themselves. The admission is usually a small donation to a local rescue or shelter and the dogs can swim until they are tired or the owner says it is time to go.
Not all dogs like to swim but those that do get so excited when they see water. Many will just jump right in and start paddling around. Others need a little encouragement in the form of a tennis ball to dive after and some just want to hold on to their owner while enjoying the nice water.
Will your dog be attending a swimming party for dogs this year?
