Since we have been following this story so closely and I felt that you all would love to see this video of Hope the Dog’s story and progress this week especially because we have reason to believe that it was some of our readers who called and donated money towards Hope’s vet bills and to raise the reward money to find her abuser(s).

Obviously,,,,I hope that the torturer is caught and punished to the maximum possible. There is a great need for the penalties for animal cruelty to be much more severe than they are. Fines and probation are common, and that’s not enough. People that will abuse harmless animals are likely to graduate to abusing people, including their own family members. At times, I think they may be given probation because they have a family to support,,,but my contention is that they will eventually becaome a danger to that same family. Incarceration should be automatic.
So sad, something similar happened here in Baton Rouge. The dog was found dead with duct tape around it’s mouth. Other abused dogs were on the property too. Owners are still in jail. It’s so sad that someone would do this to an animal, let a lone a dog.
What a sweet girl! I’m glad she’s ok and is recovering nicely. I hope the torturer is caught as well, and punished appropriately. People that do those kinds of things to animals… :shudder:
That said, I LOVE seeing dogs that receive the worst treatment possible at the hands of humans still be loving towards humans. It shows that quite often, animals are better humans than humans are.
I hope they find whoever did that! What a horrible thing to do to an animal!

That is a horrible thing to do! It isn’t bad enough to hurt an animal, they want it to die a slow and painful death? What is WRONG with people! I hope they don’t have any children.
I’m glad she is doing pretty well considering, she deserves a good home.
