Early the morning of May 25th a woman in Alabama was desperately looking for her 1 year old pug after her husband went to work calling over her son in law to help in the search efforts. What they found can only be described by the emergency Veterinarian Dr. Rhonda Ellison who saw the dog as a horrible malicious act of intentional cruelty. A graphic picture and in depth details are neither necessary or going to help anyone but suffice it to say that the dog was skinned alive.
Dr. Ellison said the dog’s condition left her no choice but to euthanize the pug. She was quoted as saying it was “suffering horribly,” and that “90 percent of its body was skinned. It was virtually skinned alive,” she said. “I could clearly see it was intentional. It was not an accident, clearly not an accident. Someone did this [to the family’s] dog. I’ve never seen anything like this in 15 years this is the worst I’ve seen.”
As horrifying as the details of the case are, it is gaining notoriety. The Alabama State Director of the Humane Society, Mindy Gilbert, said that the Humane Society of America are prepared to offer a reward of $2,500 to help solve the case, and the Alabama Humane Federation and the Animal Control Association have both offered to add $500 to the reward, totaling $3,500.
In addition, Chilton County Sheriff Kevin Davis said investigators are looking for details in the case.
“We do have an active case of possible animal cruelty, and there are not a whole lot of details,” Davis said. “We’re trying to get a forensics vet, similar to what we’d do to an autopsy of a human to determine exactly how it may have been caused.”
The forensic veterinarian was supposed to be examining the little pug today to give their determination of what was used and details of the abuse. If you know anything about this case please contact your local Sheriff’s department.

This is absolutely disturbing and disgusting. And for those who don’t see animal cruelty as a serious crime, almost every single violent crime offender has a history of animal abuse.
Oh I do not understand!!! This upsets me so much. Why are people so cruel??? We have a 3 month old pug/boston and I just gave him the biggest hug. How someone can do something to a tiny creature like this is just so disturbing to me. I hope they find him/them and severely punish them.

Unfortunately, the SOB who did this will probably not be punished as much as he should. This is definitely indicative of serious issues with violence and sadism…I can’t imagine how I would feel if someone hurt one of my beloved pets in any way, especially like this. So sick.
How horrible this person is a Monster. This poor poor dog who only wanted love and to be loved. I would like this person found and want them to rot in jail and then in hell.
I hope whoever did this is caught and punished to the full extent of the law. It is too bad whomever did this can’t be skinned alive as punishment.

This is just horrible. Poor pug. All we can say is that we hope they find this person very soon.

That is horrible! I hate hearing about things like this. These are just poor defenseless animals who all they wanna do is give us love and make us happy. I dont know how anyone could even think about doing this to a poor little dog. I have 2 beautiful for babies and if someone ever hurt them I would kill that person. You just don’t do that, its wrong. : ( I hope they find this person and that they severely punish him. I hope he rots in hell!
