The man arrested and charged with stuffing the six puppies and their mother into a suitcase and abandoning them earlier this month next to a trash bin may not face jail time. Howard Davis entered no contest pleas to charges of abandoning animals and cruelty to animals and had a second abandoning animals charge dropped at his court hearing Monday.
Davis also agreed to surrender the puppies and their mother to the Toledo Area Humane Society and repay the society $466 for care provided the puppies. Not a very harsh penalty for someone who was willing to kill all 7 of the dogs because he didn’t want them anymore. At his sentencing hearing in June maybe the judge will decide he can never own another dog again his maximum sentence for what he is charged with is 4 years probation.

Not severe enough. This person deserves to serve at least some actual jail time. Not only because he deserves the punishment,,,a message needs to be sent to others.
