First off thank you to everyone for participating from the bloggers who helped make this event happen to the almost 15,000 entries across Social Media Channels!!! This event was amazing so thank you all.
Unfortunately not everyone could win even though it would have been amazing to make a donation to all of your shelters one person had to be chosen. Congratulations to the winner of the event Kristie W. and to the organization she chose for the donation the Leon County Humane Society in Tallahassee, Florida.
A Little about Leon County Humane Society -
LCHS was formed by a group of approximately 30 citizens they decided that their main purposes should be humane education for the public, prevention of cruelty to animals and the relief of their suffering. Membership dues were $3 per person, $2 per person for additional family members, and 50 cents for members under 18 years of age. The Leon County Humane Society (LCHS) continues to be a membership – supported, no-kill organization. ADOPTION Days are held the
1st & 3rd Saturday of the month from 11am-4pm at PetSmart. It seems that the animals in their care are kept by foster families who feed them, love them, and teach them to be good babies for their forever families. They take in everything from Dogs and Cats to Bunnies, Hamsters, and Gerbils that are no longer wanted.
Meet Stella the Llewelyn Setter
Stella is a beautiful 4 year old Llewelyn Setter. She is sweet, gets along with other dogs, very obedient and housebroken. She is good with children and fairly good with cats. Stella loves human companionship and would prefer a home where she could be with someone most of the time. She loves to run outdoors for a little while but is an indoor kind of girl who enjoys quiet evenings in front of the TV. Stella is spayed, up to date on all of her vaccinations, microchipped, on heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention.
