The final face-off between good and evil is finally upon us as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 was released on DVD November 11, 2011, just in time for the holidays! Join Harry, Ron and Hermione as they do battle against Voldemort in the epic conclusion to the film series everyone is talking about!
I can remember like it was yesterday the first time I read Harry Potter ok fine so I didn’t so much read it as listen as friends all took turns reading pages and chapters from the book the weekend the first movie was released. We were in college and some of my friends were already completely obsessed. I just couldn’t see the attraction of college students freaking out over a children’s story. But being an out of town-er at my school meant many weekends spent in the dorms with not very much to do so when I was invited to spend Friday night and all day Saturday hanging out with friends eating good food and even if it meant listening to “the book” it seemed like it couldn’t be all bad. By the time we finished the book and got ready to go to the midnight showing of the movie on Saturday night I was hooked. So hooked that the next time I visited my aunt and uncle I borrowed my youngest cousin’s Harry Potter Books and read them. When new books came out I per-ordered and waited not too patiently by the door for delivery. I even have the last book in the Hong Kong – English version because when it was released I was living in Hong Kong. It doesn’t match the rest of my set but I think it is pretty cool.

The first Harry Potter book began gaining in popularity when I was in middle school, so in a sense, I got to grow up with the characters. Reading a book where good values were prized and small group of friends became their own sense of family meant a lot to me. I got picked on a lot in school, and had a very active imagination–I loved to read and to write, so the books were an escape that I valued, and that encouraged me on a daily basis. I still love the stories, and re-read them a fair amount. The movies have been great too, and have even started getting my niece into reading–quite a feat in this digital age.

My first Harry Potter experience was when I was almost 8 and the books had just come out. I was learning to read and those are the books I read. I skipped the usual younger book and went for Sorcerer’s Hat and my dad and I would read it together every night. 🙂

For my first Harry Potter experience, I saw the Goblet of Fire on TV, starting at the part where the dragon was chasing Harry. I couldn’t get through the movie. Later on, someone got me to watch the first one, and I was hooked. When you start at the beginning of the story it’s much better.
My first Harry Potter experience was reading the first book together with a group of my friends when I was in high school!
My first experience was through my little sister ! She was in love with Ron Weasley and pleaded for me to take her to go see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince in theaters since she had read the books. She convinced me into reading all of the books before watching the movie! Just like that I was in love with the series in book and film form! Team Slytherin !

My first Harry Potter experience was when my mother gave me a DVD to watch one the movies! Since then my son has started watching the movies and loves them!
I took the quiz and only got a 2 out of 5. In my defense, my son was distracting me!
I started reading Harry Potter many years ago (before it was cool). It took me a month to get through the first 2 chapters (my mom said I could quit if I still didn’t like it after 3 chapters. By the time I hit the end of chap 3 I was hooked. I’ve been to every midnight release (of the books and movies) ever since!

I fell in love with the books years ago

My first experience was with the first book shortly after it came out. I have read all of the books and seen all of the movies, most multiple times.
Mine was reading the book to my son.
My first Harry Potter experience was curled up on the couch watching a DVD.
my daughter read the first book and then I read it. So then i read it to all the family aloud and every other book from then out we read aloud. Watching the movies at midnight became the next step in our harry potter crazy.
