This weeks Pet Bloggers Blog Hop is going to be a little bit different then normal.
In our session at BlogPaws last weekend Neil from Life with Dogs (who joined us via cell phone because of Hurricane Irene) and I asked everyone in the room to think of a few words that come to mind when asked to describe a COMMUNITY. After a few moments for everyone to think about it we had some really fabulous answers.
We gave the definition of community as a group of people that come together around something they are passionate about. It is a group of voices promoting a topic.
Then I asked everyone what they are passionate about and everyone had some really great causes, ideas, and organizations that they are passionate about and wanted to share with the community. I asked how we as a Community could help them spread awareness about their cause. And the idea of a Pay It Forward idea was put on the table so I said that this weeks Blog Hop would be called Pay It Forward and everyone could introduce us to what is the pet world they are most passionate about. Those participating in the Blog Hop or reading through the posts can then offer to help out with other causes they at they interested in. They can also collect guest posts for their blog. For those without a Blog they can help by tweeting others blog posts to their followers or share them on Facebook.
My personal promise is that I will take guest posts from all of you about the topics you are so passionate about. The only request I have is that the post has to be about animals domestic or wild it doesn’t matter. You can email me (twolittlecavaliers(@)gmail.com) your guest post which must be original content not a copy of what you are sharing on your blog. Anywhere between 300 and 600 words and include a picture or graphic.
Also if you haven’t done so already please participate in the Write A Post Help a Dog Campaign which ends this Saturday night at 11:59pm. You can find all of the information which you can even cut and past basically the entire thing so it will take only a few minutes to do.

What a great idea. I didn’t see this until after I had posted my post, but I think my post fits in some way. I have two passions – pet adoption and stopping puppy mills. I believe I will have a post to add on the 2nd one soon, but the first one I’ve covered in a different way.
I’m going to read through the rest of the blogs and see how I can help.

What a great idea! I already have a post written for tomorrow, but I think Ill unschedule it and write something new tomorrow morning specifically for this hop!
I also love the idea of having guest posts, it’s definitely something I want to get into over at Kol’s Notes!

Since my posts are usually scheduled a couple days to a week in front, depending on my own hectic schedule, todays was up and running before I ever got out of bed to join the Hop. Yawn.
My posts for my pet issue, adoption and rescue, somehow ended up being always on Thursday. My pet peeves, picking up poop when you travel and safe travel, well…I just finished a travel and anxiety series. We’ve got a poop one comin’ up in a week or two. Can’t say enough about it, but there is only so many ways to address the subject.
Unfortunately sometimes I feel like we are “preachin’ to the choir”. The culprits out there are not readin’ our messages. Maybe they just don’t care? We’re just readin’ each others? Like a good choir we’re all singin’ the same tune?

Fantastic idea but since we weren’t at Blog Paws we weren’t aware of this. So we wrote on a lighter subject. Paying it forward is always a good concept to put into practice.
